Becoming Mrs is a founder-led South African bridal destination built around one belief: the woman matters as much as the wedding.
I created Becoming Mrs from my own experience of becoming a wife, but what began as an idea about the bridal journey has grown into something much more tangible.
Today, I curate bridal fashion for the moments surrounding the wedding day: the wedding morning, bridal showers, engagement celebrations, elopements, second looks, personalised pieces, lingerie, accessories and the details a woman chooses simply because they make her feel beautiful.
And increasingly, I get to know the women behind those choices.
That has become the most meaningful part of Becoming Mrs.
A Season, Not a Status
Becoming Mrs is not about marriage defining a woman.
It is about recognising an extraordinary season in the life of a woman who already knows who she is.
Becoming a bride brings anticipation, celebration, change and hundreds of small moments that exist beyond the ceremony itself.
I want those moments to matter too.
More Than the Dress
The Before
Bridal lingerie, robes, sleepwear and wedding-morning pieces created around the hours before the dress.
The Dresses Edit
Bridal shower, engagement, elopement, reception and second-look dresses for the celebrations surrounding “I do”.
Custom
Personalised bridal pieces created around her name, new surname, wedding date, bridal party or something completely her own.
The Final Edit
The earrings, clutches, layers and finishing pieces that complete the look.
And importantly:
Sizes 8–22 and continuing to grow.

I am intentionally expanding the Becoming Mrs size offering because beautiful bridal experiences should not belong to one body type.
My work has always centred on clarity, trust, and guiding people through moments that matter.
With a background in building reputable brands and navigating complex decisions, I bring a grounded, intentional approach to the bridal journey — one shaped by experience, not trends.
I’m Deidre.
And Becoming Mrs is personal to me.
I became Mrs myself before I created this brand.
I understand that strange, beautiful shift between being someone’s fiancée, becoming the bride and then suddenly hearing yourself called someone’s wife.
That experience gave Becoming Mrs its name.
Building it has given the name its purpose.
Today, I personally curate the collections, answer the WhatsApps, help brides choose pieces, prepare orders, welcome women into my showroom and sometimes spend far too long looking for exactly the thing a bride described to me.
There isn’t a customer-service department behind Becoming Mrs.
The Showroom Changed Something
Come As You Are
Becoming Mrs now has a private bridal showroom in Johannesburg.
Opening the showroom changed Becoming Mrs for me.
I get to meet the woman behind the order.
She brings her mom. She tells me about the venue. She shows me the bridesmaid colours. We talk about what she loves, what she doesn’t, what she imagined and sometimes what she hasn’t figured out yet.
There is no pressure to perform as a bride here.
